Access to this menu in Betools through: VODIcon.png Video On Demand > Content Workflow > Quality Area

The Quality Area menu helps the operator to perform a Quality check verification, involving the metadata and the view quality. It is the seconds step of the Content Publication phase of the Content Workflow process.

This page lists all the contents that are yet in Quality Area stage, waiting to be reviewed. This page has the same configuration as the Movies page.

Quality Check verification

This stage of the Content Workflow process is intended for reviewing the video and metadata quality. For the video verification, you can use the Media Preview player in the Medias block, where you will be able to play with different audios and subtitles and different bitrates.
You can use the Conformity block to reflect the result of this verification.
Once you have finished, to accept the content quality and finish this stage, change the movie status to Available in Stock and save changes by using the Save3.png in the movie page. This will make the movie available for all the devices after some minutes and the users will be able to start enjoying that content.

Content Rejection
If there is any error in the Quality check, you can move back the content to Preparation Area so it can be verified/corrected by the content provider. To do this, first fill in the Conformity block to reflect the result of this verification and to include in the Observations field as much details as possible to identify the errors in the medias, including the quality and streaming technologies of the medias with the errors.

Status change email notification
It is also possible to configure MIB to send an e-mail with the result of the QC stage, by using the two fields included in the Source screen. Therefore, when content progresses to “Available in Stock”, MiB sends an e-mail to the address included in the “Content in Available in Stock E-Mail Address” field. On the other hand, if the content is rejected and comes back to the Preparation Area, MiB sends an e-mail to the address included in the “Content Rejected In QC Stage E-Mail Address” field.
If the "Notification e-mail (Failure)" or the "Notification e-mail (Success)" fields in Multimedia > DMM > Remote Folders is configured, an e-mail with rejected content in Quality Area or Approved content is sent to the specified e-mail address with an explanation of the error.
