Access to this menu in Betools through: AdministrationIcon.png Administration > Content Workflow Tasks > Encoding Profiles



Profiles are added on Instances Remote Folder, so when the Encoding process happens (CWF Process) all media files based on the Profiles added will be generated.
This page allows you to manage the profiles.

Encoding Profiles basic properties


Field Description Restrictions
Settings Can set specific settings. For example: REPACKAGE_WIDEVINE=false REPACKAGE_HLS_FAIRPLAY=true REPACKAGE_HLS_FAIRPLAY_DRM=true
Name Name of the Profile ReadOnly
DRM Type DRM Type. Can be: AES, Dash, FairPlay, PlayReady, PR-Envelope, Unknown, Widevine.
Owner MiB User creator ReadOnly
Extension The extension of the profile. ReadOnly
File Size The file size of the profile. ReadOnly
File Name The file name of the profile. ReadOnly
Suffix Internal. ReadOnly
Structured Internal, it’s used to say if the file follows some determined pattern. ReadOnly
Storage Area Internal, is the name of the storage where this file is. ReadOnly
Has Multiple Files Internal. ReadOnly
Bitrate (Kbps) Bitrate used on encoding process. MiB takes actually the birates coming from the profile file.
Output Extension On GVP, if the profile is for Widevine will be .wvm or .mp4 or “/” if it’s a Smooth Streaming.
Apply DRM If it will apply DRM or not.
Importer Filter Used to associate the media with that profile.
Quality Define the quality generated by these profiles.
Play Type Can be: SS, WVAS, WVCBS, HLS, DTP and MPEG2TS.

New3.png Create

Encoding Profiles creation is enabled.

  1. Use the New3.png button to create an empty Encoding Profile.
  2. Fill all the Encoding Profile data.
  3. Once finished, save changes by using the Save3.png button in the Encoding Profiles page.


BulkEdit3.png Edit

Encoding Profile edit is enabled. It can be used to perform modification in the Encoding Profile data. Once finished modifying the Encoding Profile, save changes by using the Save3.png button in the Encoding Profiles page.

Edit3.png Edit in List

Edit in list is disabled for Encoding Profiles.

BulkEdit3.png Bulk Edit

Bulk Edit is disabled for the Encoding Profiles page.

Copy3.png Copy

Copy is not enabled in this page.

CopyWithRelateds3.png Copy with Relateds

Copy with relateds is not enabled in this page.

Delete3.png Delete

You can delete a Encoding Profile from the Encoding Profiles Page, using the Delete3.png button. A confirmation popup will be shown before excluding it.
